May flowers

Welcome to May 2022

I can't believe it's May 2022. So much has happened this year. The loss of dear friends and family. We move forward and keep going.  Working toward a good life filled with the love of Food!

May is the month my husband was born. I have made him so many different birthday cakes and meals. My favorite cake was the ice cream cake.

Andy's birthday cake made by me.

Pistachio ic cream Cake

Bake a white cake mix in a 9x12 pan. Cool completely. Remove from pan. With long sharp knife, cut the cooled cake into 2 layers. Set aside.

You'll need the following ingredients:

1/2 gallon of pistachio ice cream

1/2 gallon of dark cherry ice cream

1 container of cool whip

Directions:

On bottom of freezable pan, place a layer of cake on bottom.

Let pistachio ice cream stay out on counter till soft, not melted. Spread all over cake.

Top with the remaining cake layer. Press into the ice cream. Careful not to break.

Let dark cherry ice cream sit on counter till soft, not melted. Add the cherry ice cream evenly over entire surface.

Freeze.

Before serving, top with cool whip. Cut into serving squares

My children on Mother's Day

My daughter was and is a very creative girl. She and her brother would whip up a breakfast for me that was delicious. They would make cinnamon rolls or eggs and toast. Pancakes or French toast. They are both great cooks and amaze me all the time.

My daughter

My children both love to cook. They're always teaching me new techniques and  methods of cooking. I am very proud of them.
