Creamy rice pudding
Rice pudding made fresh surpasses any store bought brand. Make it for a change. Also makes a nice dessert to bring to a friend - easy to transport. Here's all you need to do:
In a saucepan, add
1 cup Aborio rice
2 cups cold water
Pinch of salt
Let simmer for approximately 15 minutes......then add:
3 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg
Cook another 20-25 minutes. When it has thickened to your taste, remove from the heat, add:
1 & 1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 lemon zest
Serve warm or cold. Top with whipped cream.
